Hello all--
I found today a framed glass panel bearing a hand-painted (and somewhat simplified) copy of Alphonse Mucha's zodiac calendar. The frame has rounded corners and is all wood; a wood panel is nailed to the back. A gilded geometric hanger fits into the top of the frame and is held in place by screws. The frame itself does seem rather old. There is no signature on the glass.
I have searched for a while now online to find similar reproductions without result. I was told the owner of the shop where I found the painting most likely found it at an estate sale. What I would like to know, I suppose, is if this type of reproduction is common, if it is particular to a certain era or decade, etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
