Currier Value
« on: March 24, 2003, 04:14:05 pm »
Hi,
I have a large framed litho by N.Currier that I inherited a few years ago. My sister in law thinks it may be an original, so here are the details. On the bottom it says:
Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1854 by N. Currier, in the clerks office of the District Court of the Southern District of N.Y.
It is titled American Winter Scenes
                            Evening
It is in a very large frame, the picture itself measure 16-1/2" x 24 ".

I know it is very old as it still has a moving tag on it when my father was tranferred in the service about 47 years ago.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Jimmy

Hello :
Look here for a list of the finished Ebay auctions of N Currier lithos.
http://search-completed.ebay.com/search/se...rty=MetaEndSort

As you can see, they are relatively common, and the prices have been supressed by the internet and online auctions.

This is a good example of an item that was worth more BEFORE ebay came along...

This is not to say yours might not be one of the unique ones, but Im just quoting the odds with what I have to work with, you understand...
