antique turtle

I have recently become the owner of an old wooden snapping turtle candy dish with a baby turtle ontop. They look like they might be snapping turtles. The interior of the candy dish part is red. the top removes by using the baby turtle on top. Very beautifully carved out of wood. It belonged to my great grandmother so it must be from the late 1800's. Anyone have any ideas who made it, where, or when or the value of this for insurance purposes? HELP!!
