1912 Howard pocket watch 23 jewels with case (railroad)
« on: September 15, 2007, 07:25:36 pm »
I have a 1912 Howard pocket watch 23 jewels with case (railroad).  I have been adamantly looking to find something comparable to know how much it is worth.  If anyone has any idea what it is worth, I would really appreciate an estimate.  Either respond here or reply to jvanblitte@aol.com.  Thank you.

Could I ask what the case is? Is it solid gold or gold filled? Has it been monogrammed or not? I happen to know a bit about watches, and I'll be happy to throw in my 2 cents.

Regards,

Mike

Hi Mike, The case of the E Howard watch is marked "Keystone watchcase", J Boss, Extra #5443331, same as on the waranty in the box.
I think the watch is gold plated but I am not sure.
The watch is in mint condition. Please let me know if you need more information.
Thank you very much, Jack

Just a ballpark figure, but it it's a gold-plated case, you're looking at around the $400 range retail, give or take $50...if it's a solid gold case (They have made them, I have seen a few), the value can go up to around five times that, not based on the value of the metal, rather that there were much fewer of them made. At any rate, it's a beautiful piece.
