Looking for any info on this Escargot set
« on: April 18, 2008, 07:57:04 am »
Some years back, my mother bought this Escargot Pick set which I believe is made from pewter. As you can see from the below pictures, there are holes on the top of the snail that house the picks (6 picks but only 5 are shown but I do have all 6). On the bottom of the snail ITALY is etched. I'm not looking to sell this set, but would rather like to know a little more history on it and the value. If there is no value or history at least there is personal value to me.

If anyone knows where I can get more information on this little set I would be thankful. You can copy the http below which will take you to pictures of the Escargot that I put up on photobucket (image sharing site)

Thanks for the info D&B. Do you know anything else about it? Maybe a range of production years or anything? Thanks again!
