Several years ago I came across an old trunk. It's roughly 39 inches long, 25.5 inches tall and 22 inches from back to front. It appears to have a leather trip around the edges with some type of metal scroll type peices on the corners. There were leather handles on each side but they have fell off over the years. The lock is made by York and Towne. My best guess is that is made of some type of hard canvas since it's not wood. Not sure if the color is relevant or not but it seems to have at one time been a deep bluish color...maybe a medium blue. The inside covering is cloth with flowers, stems, leaves and butterflies. There were 2 "drawer" compartments on the inside which I'm guessing were used for lingerie or something similiar. There was one tray that sat roughly halfway down into the truck and rested on 2 little slats on the side. There was a top compartment that had a fold-over lid...sectioned to fold in half, with 2 metal snaps to close it.
If anyone has any info on when this possibly could have been made I'd really appreciate it. I can't seem to find anything remotely similiar.
Thanks in advance,
Angela
