WATER BUFFALO HORN HAND CARVED WITH PARROT 19 INCHES TALL
« on: November 26, 2008, 09:01:04 pm »
I TRIED RESEARCHING THIS TO FIND OUT THE VALUE BUT I'VE BEEN UABLE TO LOCATE SOMETHING LIKE MINE.  MOST OF THE WATER BUFFALO CARVINGS ARE SMALL AND CARVED OUT OF WATER BUFFALO HORN.

MY CARVING IS ON THE HORN AND IT HASN'T BEEN SANDED DOWN SO YOU CAN SEE ALL OF THE DETAIL OF THE HORN.

WHAT IS THE VALUE OF SOMETHING LIKE THIS.  SOMEONE WAS SELLING ITEMS CARVED OUT OF THE HORN AND STATING THAT THESE ARE RARE.  SO I DECIDED TO CHECK WITH THE EXPERTS.

Recent American bison horns are not rare and are for sale on eBay all the time.  Very old or fossilized would be a different story.
