Pittston Stove Company began operation in 1864, the works were destroyed by fire. In 1869 it was rebuilt and in 1882 its name was changed.
This is a model No#14, Happy Thought Stove. that is what is inscribed on the stove.
A early 1864-68 Pittston stove company stove with Maroon highly detailed ceramic enclosure,
I would like to find out more information on this stove. It is not a pot belly, so what kind is it?
It looks more like a furnace, inside of the maroon enclosure.
Can not find anything on the net about the stoves this company made, before the fire in 1868/69.
anyone know about these stoves or the company?
