O.k. This one is a bit different.
« on: March 04, 2009, 11:33:30 pm »
O.k. just dug this one out of a box, This is a bit strange.  It appears to be a fat Goblet, that wants to be a creamer.   This item is made by poole, could find anything like it yet, look just a bit, then figured lets share this unusual item.  No handle, would not make a very good water jug, Don't think a good stiff drink would be easy to sip from this one.  It is Large also, 7" tall and 5 1/2" at the belly.  That would be one stiff drink only please from this one.  I think the cream would spoil before it was used up. ;D.  Anyway, I thought maybe someone just messin with me and turned a good Wine (Large) into a water jug and forgot the handle.  But don't appears to be or it was a good fake job.  Then Why it is just a vintage  ;D piece worth maybe $15.00 on a good ebay day.  Want to take a shot at this one.  ::)

I am going to guess and say that came out of the factory without a handle on it.

I can't imagine it having a "snap-on" handle.

Whether it was a prototype or someone snitched it ????????????

If it had a handle it would be worth quite a bit according to these prices.

check the 6th one listed for similar design.

It has and ice lip.to prevent ice from slideing out. I suspect it had to do with alcohol.

This could be a rare pitcher/glass made for a man with a mustache (thus the mustache guard) who likes to down his drink real fast!  (Giggle, Giggle - Sorry, up to no good today!)

I have only come across a few items like this, mostly glassware, that were made to make a single drink.  This was in the era where men wore lounge robes and elegant women in evening dresses smoked cigarettes using cigarette holders.
