another old print
« on: July 04, 2009, 12:21:22 am »
I was just wondering if anyone had seen a similar type print to the one below.  I'm not sure if you can tell by the photograph, but the area of the Madonna and child is raised- like the mountainous area of a topographic map would be.  Someone told me that they thought they had seen similar type prints from the 1920s.  The frame itself isn't old.

I think you're saying that the image is embossed ( bas relief ) ?

If so , is it only the people that are embossed , or other details as well ?

Nice print & frame , tara1245 .

Thanks D&b, having a date to go by really helps!  It's only the people that are embossed, the background area is smooth.
