Yeah I think we are definitely in our generation's depression. Hopefully, it won't get as bad as our grandparent's was. But it is truly amazing the way prices have dropped on some things. I tell ya, I am SO glad I sold my '67 bug before the bottom dropped out!
*Whew!*

Are you talking about the actual bottom of the car ..... or its selling price?

I would think that if it was a 67 VW "bug" and in good condition, its selling price would be going up considering the increased costs in gasoline and insurance.

I once owned a 66 VW "bug", Model 1600, that I bought new for $1,600. I loved that car, except for the windshield defroster.

LOL! I meant before the bottom dropped out of the economy! My bug was fully restored with lots of upgrades. There's a photo of it here in the car topic a week or so:

This is bizarre.  I have this same exact set and had just gone online to see if I could find out anything about it.  I got it as a gift about 40-45 years ago from my brother-in-law who was in the Navy.  It has been sitting in my attic since then and I just re-discovered it.  The picture is identical to the box set I have except the paper is still in it.  Priscilla
