Old School Desk
« on: October 12, 2009, 07:55:30 pm »
We have an old wrought iron folding school desk.  Does anyone have any idea what this is worth?  Pictures can be seen at midwestlandauctions .com under upcoming auctions.

Unfortunately, they don't go for much. Here in California we currently have them selling for $30, $40, $50, $60, $100 and $120 on the San Francisco Bay Area Craigslist. This is unfortunate, as they are wonderful pieces of history, just not much in demand I'm afraid. Some of these have been listed over and over. Yours has also clearly been refinished. I'm not sure if that affects the value positively or negatively.

Might I add...if you have a picture to post...you could have that unique one that is worth $$$$ or one that is worth $$.  Always post pics and as much information as you can!

Here's the photo from the auction site:
Looks very typical as the old school desks go, althought a lot of them have not been refinished like this one.
