antique walking stick

I have a walking stick which belonged to my great-great grandfather, who is said to have used it during the civil war.  It is definitely what I would call "folk art."  It is made of what looks to be bamboo, with dragonfly figures on it.  Anyone have a guess as to what the value might be?

I would start at $250.00 dollars. it depend's on how ornate it is. note the dragon fly's correct name is damsel fly.
