Any guesses as to what it will bring at auction?  I'll post the price realized after the auction on Sunday.

The price is going to depend on who's there. & of course the weather. I would suggest regardless of it's value. $125.00 Dollars.

We are looking forward to your auction result's.

Agree with D&b.  Cold painted for sure!  Believe this one is a rare one!  Couldn't find it in the books...but then I don't have them all!

Weekly auction has been canceled due to the blizzard.  It will now sell at the January 3rd auction.  I'll post the result.

Hi all...........and a belated Merry Christmas but also a joyous and healthy new year to all.

Without markings he probably won't make a lot of difference. I'm looking at Roerig II Fire Chief but even the authors of the price guides get it wrong sometimes. The soldier (no he is not a soldier), in Westfall's book actually looks closer in terms of patina/paint loss.

IF I were the auctioneer, I would state you believe it to be American Bisque or possibly earlier. I would call him a Fire Chief but that there were other Roly-Poly characters made. No chips/cracks, I'd start it at $300, get a bid at $25 and probably sell it in the neighborhood of $100. CJ's aren't what they were after Andy Warhol's auction but the old ones should still do ok.

Depending on area of the country and of course the weather........... ::)

If the Bidder knows his or her cookie jars they will be looking for those distinct wedge shapes. common to most Americn Bisque. which are on the bottom.
