This is my next
Made by Victor Silver Co., marked Quadruple Plate.......none of the marks for Victor Silver that I have found match this. I have
seen impressed marks and also several of a circle with a unicorn.
From what I have read Victor was another trademark (or division) of Derby Silver (originally Birmingham Derby). Derby merged
with International Silver Co. in 1898.
Have also read (paraphrased):
- Quadruple plate not used after approx. 1912
- Rule of thumb, Derby Factory B most likely from 19th century
Some of the older pieces apparently have a date included in their mark. I've come across anywhere from 1900 - 1906 dated.
So I guess my questions on this piece would be... does anyone know of a similar mark to mine, any idea on a date and would
this style be considered Art Nouveau?
