I'd say your antique could be used to serve phesant , game hen or other egg-related yummies .

A handy spot to hide Easter eggs & jellybeans too .

It looks like a very nice hand-fitted piece of servingware !

Tales, nice piece! I have one that was my grandmother's, it has a silver insert. I hadn't seen too many until the recession hit and then all of a sudden I began seeing them everywhere! Anyway, what a nice piece!

Well, it was a reluctant sale. That is why I was doing the look-up, directed him to the forum so that he felt comfortable he wasn't selling something terribly valuable and such. It was a bit more "open" than most sales I've been involved with because of that. They are moving to Mexico and are downsizing. They had never used it and I think felt a little badly that it was sitting unused, and he said several times he was glad to see it going to a good home.
