I need help in identifying a buffet.
« on: July 18, 2010, 10:46:44 am »
Hello. I recently acquired a buffet in which I'm not sure of the age or value.
The details on the face of the buffet appear to be hand done and it's in wonderful condition.
I've been told that the wood is probably walnut, there are locks on each of the three doors, the top drawer of the middle section that pulls out is lined with green felt and the drawers are of dove tail connections.
Can anyone help me?
Please see the attached pictures.
Thank you

Joan

I suggest looking for any stickers/engravings/printings/writing that might suggest a manufacturer, these can be located anywhere on the piece such as the bottom, legs, back, drawers, Anywhere...lol

That style was in use from about. 1790 to 1820.
