I have a bayonet that was found with the markings of Maschinenfabrik, Bern on the blade.  It has a 16 3/4 inch blade with a double riveted wooden handle.  There is a wide single rivet on the fuller of the blade to keep it firmly in place while in the metal scabbard.  What I want to know is what kind of gun is it from, what time era it was used and what battle and origin its from?  Thanks Melissa of Granite Falls NC
