Well , rb25s14 , it can be a bit tough to figure out if what you've got is a print , an embellished print , of an original/copy of an original painting , sometimes even for the experts .
Only from the images that you've posted , it appears as if the item in question was done on top of some sort of paper ... is this so ?
You can take a look at the damaged/cut/ripped areas on your item to see ...does it have a canvas/fabric backing ?
In the past museums esp. in areas of Europe would sell fairly high-quality prints of artworks in their collections , so as to generate interest in them , as well as a bit of cash ... it may be possible that you've got one of those .
Sometimes these were printed on paper , then adhered to a streched canvas with imprints or printing on the canvas that describe/name the museum , title of the painting , or even the shop that 'put them together' .
Folks have been known to remove/separate such printed works from their glued-canvas backings in order to attempt to 'fool' a buyer into thinking that an item is an 'original' .
A simple way to find out is to call around your area & find someone who does art restoration & find one who'll take a peek at it for you ... often a quick & free one .
A reputable antique dealer might be able to tell you 'in a flash' if you've got a painting or not also .
