TV Limoges France
« on: August 13, 2010, 04:09:52 pm »
This plate is a T V Limoges France plate. I have found that the plate itself is from Limoge, France and then it was shipped to the United States in Chicago, IL where it was hand-painted. I have looked on Ebay and other sites similar to it and I see a ton of rose plates but I cannot find my exact one. I am wondering if anyone on this board can tell me who I would need to contact to find out more about it! :)

Hi yellowrose 84 Your piece was actually imported from France by Tressemann & Vogt (T.V.)  and painted in their  New York studio for (de'core' pour - decorated for) Burley & Tyrell who were a Chicago-based company  that did sell imported pieces. The red bell with France is the most commonly found T. & V. decorating mark and was used during the latter part of the 1891 - 1907 period.

^^^Wendy, thank you so much for all that info! I will be printing this thread out! I contacted a limoge dealer here in MN and she really did not like to hear that she has competition! Hehe... ;D I will have to figure out how to price it accurately. Again, thank you for all your help. :)

Yellowrose84 I would place a value of $125.00  The Limoges dealer will want to pay less as she will want to sell it & make a good profit so the less she pays you the more she can make.  good luck ;D
