Old Crosley sign?
« on: November 05, 2010, 06:51:42 am »
I have tried finding the value of something like this but can't.. We do have a really big (6' maybe?) sign like this one, we seen it on the show pickers one time but for now i am kind of curious about this one.. We picked it up in IL also..

Now that sign is awesome! I have seen that episode of Pickers so many times. The Crosley guy. Most of the shows I have seen say that the big signs are usually worth about the same as the smaller ones. A 6 foot sign is heavy and difficult to display. You can't just hang her on your wall like a small one. People like to display them in their house :) You've gotta have the space for a 6 foot one and a wall or building that can properly support it.

I know nothing about Crosley signs, this one could be rare. I'd say a minimum of $650. Does yours work or have any damage? I wonder if that Crosley man on Pickers can be contacted. Suppsedly he has one of the biggest collections. Who knows? Maybe he'd even buy it from you if you were interested in selling. :)

Nice sign.  Not as in demand as some signs (that is unless you are really into appliances/refrigerators).

Some bio on Crosley...http://www.americanjukeboxes.com/site/620909/page/797449

In my neck of the woods it would sell for $50 - $125 in pristine/working order.

As for the large one....hosman321 nailed it!  Bulky items are harder to sell....but ballpark would be $300+ if in pristine working order.

Maybe I'm tired, but is Ole saying that he has a 6' one, as well as 'this one' which he is trying to find out about? This one seems to be just under 2' x 1'  ish.  I know nothing about it, I'm afraid, never ever having heard of Crosley over here.

Thanks!! It is indeed in Mint condition and it works.. That episode with the Crosley guy is one of my favorites!! We about crapped when we seen that big sign in the background, we was like hey we have one of those!! The big sign is double sided and of course we kind of figured it wouldn't demand as much but.. Had to have it LOL!!

I think it's neat how certain items demand more money in certain regions. We have about 200 old Crosley Radios and about 300 other kinds a long with tubes and all kinds of radio stuff.. We are having a huge Radio Auction in February...

Thanks for your input, i wish it was a Radio sign but alas it's not!! It will probably bring about 200$ (we hope) in our Radio auction coming up...
