looking for help in idenifying this piece,maker? no marks, ethnic background? what cost should be? value? It seems to be made of plastic,with leather backing.thanks all

The detail looks pretty nice but unfortunately the pics do not enlarge much.  It is hard to tell what it actually is.  Is it a chair or a picture?

It is mounted on leather in a picture frame...I had to resize these smaller,if you can tell me how to post bigger pics I sure will

Switzersweet, you can post an attachment of 2000 KB with 4 per post.  Your pics are around 40 KB.  Plenty of room there for larger pics.  Railman posted a 'sticky' at the top of the Antique Questions Forum page on posting pics that may be of some help also.

um I have done all I can figure out. I used photobucket,and it stills says to large.and on the photo there is says only 44 kb?

It may be an ancestor portrait, used for worship of ancestors after their death. But I have only seen painted ones, never one made from other materials. Here is an example of a Chinese ancestor portrait:

Well at least knowing it is Chinese is a start.. just wondering how to price it on Ebay, I can't seem to find anything like it either

I believe the symbol on his robe is the Chinese symbol for longevity.

I did some research on my Chinese wedding bed so that I would be able to appreciate the symbolism of the carvings. There are lots of Web pages with Chinese symbols, so it was pretty easy to find.
