Any Jim Beam collectors
« on: August 27, 2011, 04:38:01 pm »
I purchased this today at a yard sale.  It's a Jim Beam Decanter.  I did a little research and it looks like it's from 1969.  I saw just the wagon (the empty decanter) selling for about $20 on Ebay.  This one is all complete and it's full.  The one side of the seal is cracked but the other is intact.  The elderly woman I bought it from said that here and her husband bought it probably back when it was new.  They just had it in the basement. Do these have any value and are they worth more full?  Thanks for any information.

I have several Jim Beam bottles I picked up at a Auction.  Many are cool, but they seem hard to sell, First many out there, I have had little sucess at $20.00, moderate sucess at 9.99

Only way they are worth more full is if you need it to stock your bar !! Then its worth the price of the booze plus $10. bucks for the bottle !!

Thought it might be worth more.  Now the important question, does it go bad?  Considering that it's not worth anything I'm tempted to crack it open this weekend at our annual fantasy football draft.  Maybe I should just give it to those I'm competing against :)

Crack it and drink up, no whiskey does not go bad, got a few that were full myself, my girlfriend is just finishing off a bottle of 50 yr. old 90 proof.  Whew, I don't drink but was giving some of these bottles to friend to empty befor I sold them.  Didn't want to go throught the hassle of a full bottle.  So crack that seal and enjoy.
