Tall Orange Carnival Glass Vase
« on: October 17, 2011, 07:06:50 pm »
Hi all!  I'm going to try to get around to some more of my glassware this week...so this vase I have found similar examples by Imperial and Fenton, but none exact to mine yet...most of the results I find have a horizontal ripple effect that mine doesn't have.  This one has only vertical fluting or ribbing.

It is 8.5"H.  Unmarked.

Trying to get the maker and an approximate date.  This one and a couple others I've got coming up should be fun for us glass-lovers  ;D

I would look for "Fine Rib" by either Fenton or Northwood. About the only difference is that on the Fenton pattern the ribs stopped short of the top edge.

It would be nice if it was Northwood, has the color.

Fenton rib vases are circa 1911.They were 9" to 11". They reissurd in 1930. There are similar patterns made by Dugan and Northwood. These vases are rare. Some are valuable.

Wow, thanks greenacres!!  I had a feeling this one might be early 1900s, at least pre-1950s, when I saw the way the bottom turns to clear near the rim...have a couple of older Imperial vases that way.

Thanks, ironlord.  It's looking more & more like a Northwood to me as I'm going through guides & info on fine ribbed vases...boy, this one is harder than I thought it would be!

These are tough to find maker as panel sides , ribs , star points  on base all need to be counted and compared this will help if you could count & list these greenhorngirl, also what does the base measure at???  ( crazy!!! :o ) I can tell you this is not a  Fine Rib Vases by Northwood   (Sorry Ironlord)  the ribs would continue all the way to the very top edge If this was by Northwood.  One down will search more when I get home.

Thanks, Wendy & Mart!  I will get out the magnifying glass and count the ribs, starbust points, and measure the bottom.  Counting those ribs will be hard!  I glanced at it today but being tired they all started blending together  :o
