Girl Pig Cookie Jar-Shawnee???

Hello all. You were a big help with the pocketwatch and dead on with your advice-so heres a new one. This was my great grandmothers cookie jar,she's a cutie i've always loved this thing! Any idea who made it? I was looking at Shawnee ones and its kind of similar to some but there are no markings on this-just a black smudge on the bottom. Any idea of a maker and value and approx. how old she is would be great. Thanks

Here is a picture showing a Shawnee Pottery "Winnie Pig" cookie jar (on the right) and a fake (on the left). Does yours look like these?

I found a few similar to mine but with differnt paint jobs-I'm pretty sure its an American Bisque-boy I wish I could get these pics uploaded!

If you think so check that sites home page they have a listing of all the major Mfrs alphabetically !! You can see what each produced !!

If I had to guess, I would agree that it's American Bisque...but, I just went through the Westfall CJ book, and didn't see yours.

Look more for style rather than paint job !! A mfr may have had one or two styles of cookie jars but several different methods of painting them !!http://collectibles.about.com/od/cookiejarcollecting/u/cookiejarguide.htm   This is the guide !!

Yup it is made by American bisque  One of the best ways to distinguish a reproduction is by the size, most of them are anywhere from 1/2" - 1" shorter than the legitimate jar.  your jar should be 11 1/2" for the real deal!! Value in good market $125.00 in this market maybe $50.00.

Well I just measure her to be about 11 inches
