antique oil lamps
« on: December 22, 2011, 01:06:11 pm »
i had a question regarding antique oil lamps ir oil lamps in general. I came across an oil lamp that appeared to be wiite old that had a greenish yellow glass chimney and am wondering if anybody here can tell me anything about its age from the colored chimney. I know a lot of the antique oil lamps were not colored glass.

You can't judge/value an oil lamp by the chimney.

Chimneys probably get replaced more often than wicks do ........ because chimneys have to be washed ever so often ...... and they don't always survive their bath.  ;D ;D ;D ;D
