cast iron door stop
« on: September 08, 2004, 11:53:15 am »
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I have a lighthouse doorstop that is very old
and would like to know more about it.
It is approx. 9 inches tall and a cream color. It
may have been white at one time. On the bottom
are the markings J with co. on either side. There
are numbers, but cannot make out what they are.
    Thanks in advance.

yes j.& co. did exist, around the 1900's. your' lighthouse sold at recent maine auction, for $200.00 dollars. $250.00 to $300.00 could be realized in a private sale. due to there popularity.
