Barometer/thermometer

Hi, I have had this barometer/thermometer for a while. I got it from my grandparents and I was just very curious about it, I dont think its very old but any information about it would be great. Any info on the value would be great too, although Ill never sell it due to sentimental reasons.

I guessing that with the mercury thermometer, this one dates back maybe to the 1930's - 40's?

Yea, i figured about that time, I was interested in the manufacturer and value. It would be cool to know who made it.

Unless its marked not much way to tell who made it !!  Back then every house had a similar piece hanging on the wall or sitting on a shelf !! My grandparents had one that sat on a shelf made like a little house !!  The porch had a circular piece that rotated with a witch on one side and two children on the other !!  If the witch was out,,,bad weather,, kids out,,,nice weather !! !!  Grandad used a coke bottle, canning jar and water and made his own barometer !!  Poured water in the canning jar and inverted the coke bottle into it !!  When water started to rise into the neck of the coke bottle,, time to go fishing !!

Thats really neat! I cant wait to get my own place and hang mine up!

Money wise,, these are about $20. unless a high end with mfrs name !! But I like them !! I tend to go for the ordinary day to day items that people used !!

I like them too, they are nifty little items. I like how the thermometer reads "blood heat".

They're cool pieces, but like iceboxes, there's about 100 gazillion of them out there! Also like iceboxes, a lot of different companies made those to hang on walls like someone else mentioned. Value wise maybe $20-$30 if it works. Not a lot of monetary value, but excellent to have when planning a camping trip!
