I have seen them where the bottom is more like a solid color so that the top side showed the carnival appearance in a much more distinct way!  Can't remember who did that tho'!

bottom more opaque mart, and wendy believe me I've done research I have seen nothing like this. But it is getting some bids on ebay.. I put it up before I talked to u guys at 2.99 because I thought it was junk anyways there is 4 days left we will see what happens,wendy if you like it its under carnival glass platter go bid on it please :)...
