Now if you lived near me you could pick this up for $45 !! Looks very comfy and I think would go great with your desk.  Would need recaning but that's not a big problem in my area.

They are out there, just keep check your local classifieds and hit up the antique and thrift stores (even yard/garage sales).

Another thing about this style,, you can also find them listed as Federal, and Hepplewhite as well as Sheraton !!

Wow, Sapphire, that chair is really close.  The spindles are almost exact.

It would go well with the desk I think !! I enlarged the pic and although I can`t tell for sure,, it appears to have sheet caning rather than hand caning !!  If its sheet cane,, replacing it would not be difficult !! Just need to buy the spline and have a tack hammer and something sharp enough to trim it after its put in !! !!
