Old Phillips Radio

I have an old Phillips radio that has all states names on the tuner dial, this is the only window/button or dial i can see and there is a brown handle on top?? any ideas?

Not totally sure yet but I think you may have a vintage short wave radio rather than AM FM !! Does it have an electrical connection ??  Could be tube ot transistor depending on age !! Your pic was blurry when I enlarged it so still couldnt see the name !! Look and see if you can find a model number on it !!  Found a few similar but different maker !!

Hey, there is no cord and I have no idea how it works :| as far as I can see there are no other buttons or dials? Not sure if it's Australian either sorry

How does it work??

It would run on batteries, likely 'C' or 'D' cells. Do both the red 'wheels' move?  Usually one would be for changing the channel, the other for off/on, volume.

If you remove the back you may find a plate or label with model or patent numbers that would help in determining date.

You need to remove the back and see if old batteries are still there !! If so corrosion on the terminals could have damaged it beyond repair !! If it still has batteries and where the ends touch the terminals are not corroded,, take the batteries out !! Never leave batteries in something like this or in anything for an extended period !!~
