A small , yet very important , tip on 35mm & other 'film' cameras would be - give a very close inspection of the 'pressure-plate' area (behind the film , as it would be located for photo-shooting) of the inside/back of the camera body for any 'scratching/rust/defects/etc , as such defects will often scratch 35mm film , while winding/rewinding .
Cameras damaged in this way can be far too expensive to repair up to manufacturers specs , versus the value of the camera itself .... there are exceptions to the rule , but those are $$$$ cameras .
