My lamp
« on: June 09, 2012, 06:57:50 am »
I got this lamp from a gentleman who said it was one of his mother's favorites and was from the 30's.
It is a "busy" lamp for sure but I think it is very unusual and was wondering if anyone else might know a bit more about it.

It's incredibly heavy and is missing two of it's shades.

Wow, haven't seen one that ornate in years!!!!  30's to very early 40's.

No markings anywhere on it?

I've found a few examples online with the amethyst grapes and similar crystals.......but so far they're all chandeliers.  I think all the ones I found were stated as being French.  Grab a magnifying glass and check all metal areas for any indication of a mark......of any sort.

Here's one example.......

Still looking...by the way....no biggie that the shades are missing.  That is minor and doesn't devalue it.

Thanks for all of your hard working digging up info for me sapphire and KC.
I can't see any markings anywhere.
Could a marking be under that bluish stuff?

Maybe some of our experienced 'cleaners' will have some advice on how to go about removing what is likely years of collected grime and what may be some other issues.  Never know what you may find underneath........t hough I think only one or two of the chandeliers I came across were actually attributed to specific makers.  Likely due to lack of markings.
