Do you have a Hidden Treasure Story?
« on: June 12, 2012, 12:36:40 pm »
NOW CASTING:  Hidden Treasures

Have you ever unwittingly come across an object of value at a yard sale, antique shop, or your very own attic?

Maybe while cleaning out grandma’s estate, you found a tiny jade elephant, and when you got it appraised, it was worth 10 grand!?! Or maybe you simply bought a $5 hat from a yard sale that turned out to be a limited edition from the 20’s, now worth several hundred bucks.

If you’ve uncovered any “hidden treasures,” we want to hear your story on our show! To apply, send us a brief paragraph of how you came across this object, as well as a description of the object and how much it’s worth. A photo of the object would be the icing on the cake!

Thanks, and looking forward to hearing from you!

Its for real.
I will call his office tomorrow, but I can tell they are not scamming.
to quote them:

Hi Ed,

This isn't a scam. We are starting a new antique show for the Huffington Post
/ AOL and thought that your site would be a great way to find people. I have
CC'd my work email address on this as proof. Hopefully that is enough, if not
please let me know what else you need me to provide.

Cheers,
Andy Nixon

Hi Ed,

I'm the lead producer on the series - feel free to call my office as well
for confirmation, and thank you for allowing us to post on your site.

So, I  bet there are some candidates here at Antique-shop.com! Surely Tales should mention the bible adventure to them!

Thanks for following up on that Ed, it did not occur to me to check up on the legitimacy. That is a good idea. Thanks for the promo on the bible story, but I've got no desire to be on a TV show! Not my cup of tea!
