CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS CHAIR PLEASE??
« on: July 09, 2012, 03:03:23 pm »
Does anyone know anything about this type of chair?  I have been given it and was told it might be worth something.  Thanks in advance!

Those look like mass-produced hex nuts to me. By any chance are the screws in this piece Phillips head screws? If so, you've got a 1940's or later piece.

Thats what I figured !!  Your chair is made similarly to Michael Thonet`s bentwood chairs !! But like Tales said , I think its later as well,, perhaps late 30`s early 40`s !! Don`t remember his chairs having hex nuts like that !!  Thonet made furniture for the masses and had several factories in Europe !!  No huge money,, maybe $200. USD if in excellent condition !!
