Need help with a Bombe style chest

Hey all needing some help with a piece.  I picked this up at Bekins moving crate auction.  From what I can tell from my knowledge is that it appears to be early to mid 19th century that was repaired at one point with 20th century hardware ie. rosebud nails.  The veneer appears to be thicker than normal and it is layed out in pieces on the top of the chest.  The drawers do not have dust covers and the drawers stop about an inch from the back of the chest.  As far as origin I was thinking Louis XVI.  Ive shown it to alot of people and there answers have been all over the place.  Some say french some say dutch and time periods are all over the place as well.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Cant tell anything from that last pic,, its blurry for me and that blue pad doesn`t help !! We need a good clear shot of the dovetails on the drawers, one of the top and back if possible. Close up of hardware would also be good !!

Here are some more pics.  Hope these help.  The base is a seperate piece.  Im not sure of what wood is used.  I dont have enough experience yet to determine wood patterns.

Well, it is hand cut joinery, early to mid 1800`s, Louis styling but which one is a toss up !!

The front panels are burl wood but hard to tell  what type !! Can you take a pic of that top with out glare ??

Mighty tight burl. Perhaps elm or maple?

Elm isn`t often used for furniture but maple was very popular if patterned !!

Hope this helps.  My garage is little cluttered hard to move that thing around by myself.  Its pretty heavy and I'm afraid to break it.

You are correct about elm as a basic material for building; however, elm burl was used fairly frequently on high end pieces. I've got a couple of 1870s era pieces with burled elm details.

Looks like top has a banded edge and in pretty good condition if I am seeing it right !!  Better still !!  Ok for a value,, that depends a lot on where it is sold !!  Here in the south, middle and midwest,, $1200. to $1500. ,,east and west coast $1800. to $2500. high end !!  Keep in mind this is only my opinion and I can`t see the chest in person,, I am just going by what I can see !! There are other variables !!

I do see what appears to be some loose joinery in the back which is expected to some extent !! That needs to also be taken into account when selling !! But have only those experienced with doing this type furniture work on it should you need to repair it !!
