Found while renovating
« on: July 23, 2012, 05:21:02 pm »
My sister in law is renovating an old 1906 era home and is finding cool stuff behind the walls.  The first picture was developed from a movie film negative she found in the wall in the same room as what is in the picture. Home movies?  Ideas on dates ? We can't figure out what he is trying to do in the film but I think maybe a magic trick?
The second picture is of a teddy bear they've found.  It's really fragile so she isn't handling it much. It has wire in the arms and legs.  Ideas on if it's worth saving?
They've also found some baseball cards but they are in pretty rough shape as you can see.
Just thought I'd post here and see if anyone had any ideas or thoughts about what she is finding.
Thanks!

They are really neat. Are they playing crochet?

Lacrosse and field hockey.

How fun! You found quite a little treasure trove in the wall, it must have been a child's secret hiding place! I ADORE the teddy bear! I'm sure he is happy to be released from the wall at last! Old teddy bears can be quite collectable. Although it's not a Steiff and it has some condition issues, (is there a leg missing?) if you opt to sell it, I would sell the story with it, about how he was found in the wall. It's pretty darn cute!!

The lacrosse cards are quite collectable! Look at this one selling for $140!

Those film stills are surreal. It's hard to tell WHAT'S going on.

Looks like a stash from the 1920s.

Strange. There's so much going on in that still! The cello on the floor, knocked over chair, and I don't know what the long pole/hook thing is or what he's doing with it. Bizarre!

Exactly!

I'd get those photos framed. They look like long lost still from a Bunuel or Dali film.

With the disarray in the room and her hands above her head in the second pic !!  Maybe she saw a mouse ??  Ladies reaction to finding a critter like that has been used in film often !!
