I think my seller died- seriously!
« on: July 24, 2012, 03:29:08 pm »
Several months ago I purchased a chemise (that's a Civil War era undergarment, kind of like an undershirt) from an Ebay seller and had a good transaction. In face I liked it so much that I purchased a second one. The seller had a note on the page saying not to order during a couple of weeks in June, that she would be away. It was after the time when she said she would be gone, so I did a Buy-it-Now and paid for the item. Nothing happened. No item, never shipped. I sent several messages, no response. Today I looked at the feedback and there were several other people that this happened to, all of us made purchases in June/July. This was a nice lady and I didn't want to leave negative feedback, since it seems quite obvious that something has happened to her. So today I opened a case for the transaction on Ebay and told them that it appears that the seller is either sick or deceased and suggested that since this has happened to quite a few buyers that the store be closed to prevent further purchases. This is the first time I've had something like this happen. She has quite a few Buy-it-Now items that run long term and I felt like I ought to do something.

Sounds like you kept a level head and did the right thing. People are often ready to leave negative feedback without knowing the whole story. Sometimes it's well deserved, of course.

Oddly enough, I believe we had a favorite seller die recently as well, although we did not have any outstanding transactions.

I probably would have reacted very differently if I had not had a previous transaction with her. If I had ordered one of her Civil War dresses and needed it in time for an event, I would have been really upset. I really felt sorry for some of the people who left negative feedback, and even more so for the seller.

Paypal should reinburse your money but that doesn`t help with the chemise ( and yes I know what they are)  !! Watch her listings and see if there are items added and I would check some items for questions answered !!

I got a reply back from Ebay just a few hours after escalating the case. Ebay has issued a full refund for the item and shipping costs.

So it ended well, at least for you.

Well dang it , huh , Talesof !?

I'm sure you are quite resourceful enough to find more 'underwear-to-die-for' , however !

There was one ebay seller I rather liked & although his 100% rating stayed put , he was nowhere to be found .
More than a year later I found out that he'd been in hospital & finally reemerged , recovered from whatever it was that ailed him , with an entirely diff stock(s) of items for sale .

Sounds like tales needs to hit up the nearest 'Victorian's Secret' shop.   :D
