Here,s a couple of things to wet your whistles,....i,m forever buying bargains,in fact i,ve got a spare room choc full of bargains,..so i,m having a clearout,..and they,ll probably end up on ebay...the Skull,is in fact a Bronze door knocker,..it measures 10in x 6in x 3in and weighs an impressive 8.3lbs i picked it up in the Czech Republic a few years ago,at a craft fare,it cost approx £5,we liked it because of its novelty value, and thought it would look great on our front door,...but then we moved and out front door is glass....the other item is a Galle glass bowl...its got 3 x chains which indicates that its too be attached to the ceiling with a lamp holder inside,..but we have been using it as a table lamp,..but now,its surplus,

Where did you get the lamp ?? Certainly not the quality seen with Galle`glass !! Unless his workers were really having a bad day or the pics are bad !!  Are you sure it isn`t one of the Chinese fakes ??

Sorry Bigwull but I have to agree with mart signature and look are wrong for a Galle'.

Did you enlarge that Wendy ??  Galle` had many signatures on his work but few are actually his !! He had a lot of studio workers !!  The quality of this just doesn`t look right,, almost looks painted on rather than the layering it should be !!

You might be correct,..but at £3,i thought ,why not, i might be lucky,...as i was with these beauties,i got 4 x stereo speakers,see pics,at a general auction a couple of months back,I paid £4 + 20% comm,total £4.80,.then i did some research,and found that they had been made in 1971 by an iconic speaker designer...Jim Rogers,his JR149,were much sought after at the time,and the 150 ,s were,nt so popular,but now they were much sought after,.on the bottom was JR150 made in England...I sold them for £900,so it just goes to show, it does,nt have to be old to be valuable,...hence the reason for buying the "galle"...i,m bound to be able to get what i paid for it, or maybe even a profit,..i,ll let you know .

The pattern on the "galle" is layered as is the signature,....but we all know how resourceful the Chinese are,or any other copiers

Oh Yes !!  I just try to remember the saying ""if it sounds too good to be true,,it probably is !!   May be just the pics !!!

Well you crazy cat swingin guy  for that price I would of bought the Galle' too!!  I did enlarge it mart and have never seen such an incomplete e' on a true Galle' before. Love the door knocker but my front door (and back door) is all glass also.

Fake Galle, but who would know? At that price just hang it up.

I would have made a bet that it wasn`t real !!  But like Wendy said,, I would have bought it too at that price !!
