Bronze Rooster Man
« on: August 25, 2012, 01:33:25 pm »
We saw this bronze sculpture at an estate sale. It's about 2 feet high, and that's all we know about it, except that it is supposed to be by a sculptor named Guillermo Gomez.

We can find out nothing about this artist. This is the only photo we could get...sorry it's not more clear.

Any information would help! The asking price is $12,000 !!!!!!!!!!

Apparently the artist works in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Check out the images at the bottom of the page for another example of "Rooster Man".

Man, art is just one of those things... Is it a one of a kind? How much do you like it? How old is it? How reputable is the artist? Lol and most importantly, how much can you afford?

I love the piece... But I wouldn't spend 12K on it... But, perhaps thats only because I don't have an extra 12K to through around...

Best wishes in you decision.

Looking back and forth at these two pictures, they are certainly different... The comb is sculpted differently... and there may be more differences if the first photo were brighter...

More than one piece of the Rooster..and in order for each piece to retain its uniqueness, the sculptor has changed them ever so slightly......

as far as this sculpture,, are you buying to keep or as an investment ?? if as an investment check his sales record and then see if anything has increased in value over the last 10m years or so !!  if the selling price hasn`t appreciated at least a little,, i wouldn`t buy for that reason !! and to tell the truth, i wouldn`t buy it if it did !!

well if you spend $12 g on something, it would be good,, if you had to sell it in the future,, to know you would not lose money !! that would be like dealing in the cattle market,, buy high,, sell low !!  not a good thing!!  you lose your skivvies like that !!
