Just bought my first piece
« on: August 30, 2012, 03:26:04 pm »
I just bought this dresser. I am not concerned about the value more than general information and era of the piece. I did pay $90 for anyone curious. Since than i have invested in another dresser not as nice but very unique in my opinion.

Definitely a lovely, well crafted piece. The wood is stunning. Would you say the rollers were original to the piece? Are they metal or wood, on all four legs?  Also, could you post pics of the construction methods?  Dovetails, joints, visible nails?  This would all help members to date for you.

BTW, welcome to the forum!!  ;)

I would say 1920s-30s, otherwise it's pretty much as Mart described. Very nice piece, probably part of a bigger bedroom set. A bargain for what you paid for it.

Good job!

I agree with Ghopper and Mart. Nice piece and very undervalued in my opinion. Try to buy a new one and it will cost you 800.00 or more and will not have that nice veneer work.

..Here,s what you do....get your hubby,to hold the "snug fit" jeans by the waist,..in the open position,...then you, get a chair or small step ladder...climb upon a sideboard...LOL...a nd juimp into the opening of the "snug fit"...jeans...simple!....just don,t blame me if both of you land in a tangled heap....lol!
