thats it.... not a word more anywhere on the damn thing!

its gotta be some sort of portable toilet.. but i cant find any info about it

Looks looks a cludgie to me...and i think it self explanetary,...its for parking your bum!...and the pipe at the back connects to the drainage system, and the dripper thingy drips disinfectant down the hole...and the black bucket...you fill that wi watter and slosh it down after you know what!....simple

i thought it was that simple.. the problem is there is no info on it anywhere... like it doesnt exist.

mabe its not a toilet? waste goes into the black bucket inside the white part.. but whats with the hole? you pull the bucket out, its too tall to be drainage... i am so confused.

well i can tell you that if its a camping toilet as i think it is,, there would be a hose connected to the pipe and would be run outside of a tent,, the bottle would have oil of mint like we used at some parks, that way with the lid down and the smell going outside,, the mint oil would make it tolerable !! little odor !!

Boats and RV's have similar ones, although on a boat you should unload it when you get back to shore in a proper disposal area. The bucket may have been used to flush it out or down in an RV to a connected sewage outlet. Usually don't want to do number 2's in these things unless you really have to.

I don,t know Kevin...when a number 2 is imminent,any hole will do...i,ve even been known to hide behind the odd bush or two....especially after a night on the sauce,and faced with the long walk home....

i think the black bucket fits inside,, then lift the lid to remove and dump,, wash and replace afterward !!  wouldnt want to remove the hose and haul the whole thing out every time !!

You have hit it on the Head, Mart....thats exactly what its for...in 2005 i visited my Aunt and Uncle,in the Ukraine...and one day one of my cousins took me to where my father had been brought up,it was a But & Ben...one room for living in and next door was for the animals...at the bottom of the garden there was a wooden box..the size of a broom cupboard...inside was a box with a hole in it..under the hole was the remains of a 5gal ICI empty paint tin...this was the toilet,...at the back there was a little door, when said tin was full,  it was my dads job to empty the tin...when i asked my cousin....where did they put the refuse....her answer put me off eating pork...for a long time.....

lol !!  i was raised camping and such !! some of my family had outdoor toilets till the sixties !! hated going to visit that aunt and uncle !!

I remember these as being a device offered to bridge the transition between the time period of the outhouse and the modern bathroom. When advanced age made using a traditional chamber pot too difficult for Grandma, this was quite the improvement. The unit would be vented through the wall, similar to a modern dryer.

At my Aunts place in the Ukraine...they still have this "outside toilet"....and they still recycle the waste....and they still eat pork.....

Someday I'll have to post a photo of our "TV stand". It's an early walnut combination chair table with the extra option of a toilet chamber under the chair seat. Sounds gross, but it's actually a stylish piece of old furniture.
