Hi all,...I had the whole day to myself...I was the boss...so being the boss,i got to buy what i like...without having the real boss,..telling me...Oh...I don,t like that....i did the rounds of my local charity shops...and found these 2 items...now i know that they are not particularly old...the painting, is probably an art students work...no signature...just a date 1971...but i loved it the minute i saw it...it measure 32in x 20in and is oil on canvas...it cost me £14...the marble ball or sphere cost £3..it weighs 1400g and is 4in in dia there,s 5 different coloured marble,s...but i can,t detect a seam between the pieces...its a perfect sphere...again i liked it when i saw it...i don,t know what i,m going to with it....but will have to think of something fast...as the other boss will be home in a couple of hours...

I,m calling it Egg & Beans....now i,ve got to go and hide it for a while before the boss comes in...then i,ll break it to her gently..."Its going on the Wall"..and there will be No arguments, thats what i should say.....but....we,ll see

that type of art has a good collector base !!  i call it " graphic gothic" !! they sell well !!

Thank you Mart...i think i,ll frame it..i can do it myself as i still have all my tools...then when its framed i can show the boss it....and she might like it better...than she would now....in its naked form...
what type of frame do you think would suit it.....

as a personal opinion,, needs to be a simple dark tone frame !!  those paintings have so much going on in them that a patterned or textured frame would detract from the pic itself !! just do about a three inch simple type !! solid color !!

As for that giant marble, peel the label off the tin, drop a shade over top and she'll think it's a new lamp!

Well I've googled my eyeballs out trying to find a mable/polished/manmade sphere that resembles yours. Lots of natural patterns and obvious designed ones........but nothing quiet as industrious as your mix n' match.

But did come up with a few ideas for what you could do with it. Or at least tell wifey you plan to
