Antique Stanley no 45 "S" Rule
« on: September 09, 2012, 08:54:52 am »
Hi again folks, found this at a yard sale yesterday and wanted your opinion. Anytime I see a tool this complicated looking from early to pre 1900 I have to have it  ;D. I doubt I hit a huge jackpot but Im hoping it was worth the $45 I paid for it, I know some are worth alot. It seems to be complete and I want to say 80% of the original nickel plating is still there. I dont believe they made this model with the flower decoration on it in the 1900's, or at least after 1909 ( Ive seen the 1910 model and it doesnt have it) but I could be wrong so Im hoping someone can give me a relative date. I do have the screwdriver and blades that originally came with it as well, I know that ups the value but not sure how much. The same model is on Ebay right now but the condition is much worse and its missing everything, heres the link

thanks for any info and let me know if ya need more pics!

Im missing half the blades but have a set of the #6 hollow and round cutters it mentioned and 1 of the #8 round, is that $75-$150 just for set of cutters?! didnt see the picture at the bottom when I looked though, thanks for makin me look again. Looks like this is a 1897 model 7b, sweet!

Looks like that is the value they're quoting for the #8 set ;)

If you've already seen that then you likely came across this too......just throwing it out there in case it helps anyone else out too.
