Does it have any value?

How do I know if this lamp is worth anything.  I am getting ready to throw it away.  It looks like a minute man.  It appears to be ceramic with a wood base.

Sounds 1950 - 1960's.  In the era's "early american" or "colonial decorating genre.  Might still be cute in a little boy's bedroom.  :)  I wouldn't throw it out, but rather donate it to a local thrift store - I think it's value would be less that $20.   KB
