Royal Doulton Miniature Flambe Vase from car boot
« on: September 19, 2012, 06:27:55 pm »
I got this Royal Doulton Flambe miniature vase which is only 2 inches high from a car boot last Sunday. Very odd indeed. Why do they produce this type of vase in miniature form. With a very small narrow neck. Surely it would be much easlier to made wide neck vase.
When you hold the vase in your hand it feel like a door knob

Using greenacres link  ;) I made one more 'click' and came up with an entire page of the Flambe. Found this, though not sure if it's exactly the same shape due to different camera angles.

I think the Staffordshire sale was only a general sale which do not always achieve good result for good collectables. Some items in the sale has est price of £6/£8. There was a flambe three handle cup the same size in ebay recently got £144. So the conclusion is never put a good collectable in a general sale only the buyer end up with a bargain.

i don,t dispute that....its a buyers market....it just depends on who is where on the day....if two people want it the bid goes up...but..by the same token the one sold in Stafford must have had more than one bidder....yet it only reached £44....as for ebay....fickle place....becoming more like website for fraudsters and rip off merchants...with ebay & paypal...at the forefront....who offer little or no protection to sellers...and nearly always find for the buyer....if anything goes wrong...as i found out to my expense.....
