ORIGINAL pastel Keane style big eye art by Ron Sheppard
« on: September 20, 2012, 11:24:44 pm »
So I have spent the whole day scouring the internet for any info on this guy, Ron Sheppard, and I'm pretty sure there's no other name that it could be. I picked this up today at an estate sale and was blown away to discover that it is an original pastel, and was even more amazed that the artist isn't famous. Can anybody tell me anything about this artist or perhaps refer me to a forum that might have some big eye art experts?? I know this is worth a lot, I just need to find out some information so I know how to price it correctly.
Also, this is HUGE, I don't have it in front of me, but I'd say at least 2' x 3'

I would contact the gallery by email with a picture better than taking it out of the glass. They seem to be pricey.

That would be correct.

I wish the best for Wolfhouse and hope that the piece is worth 10K!!

However, I'll always associate these things with gas stations and tourist stores from years gone by, so no thanks.

BUT!!!

In the interest of keeping an open mind, I did visit the website linked above, and I'll admit without embarrasment that I actually liked a few of the paintings.

Lol, It reminds me of the 70's, 80's and those cat clocks with the big eyes and moving tails.
