Terracotta? creamer?
« on: September 22, 2012, 02:53:07 pm »
Hello again,

Well I thought I had this one - do know it is a creamer - probably not very old - but wondering if you could tell if it is terracotta?  That's what I believed it was but then it has the peacock design and all the others I have seen do not have this type of design.  Would this be a mold?  stamped?  Anyone with pottery knowledge, if you could help me describe this it would be great.

Yes, I know - I said it would be the last one earlier  LOL

Thanks as always!

Not much knowledge about this, but I do know that in architecture terra cotta is fired to come out with a hard, glossy glaze and is usually - but not always - white.

Thanks and I know it looks and feels like clay on inside but when I look at pieces they are absolutely high gloss and smooth - not with embossed designs -- so not sure.  I guess I could list as just pottery - creamer with peacock design - just like to have as much information or at least sound like I know what something is  LOL   ;D
