It is collectible!  BUT if would have to be determined if in fact it is authentic Jelliff or one made in similar fashion - time/era made.

Very desired with high end collectors if determined authentic.

Greenacres is quite the trouble maker!  :D

Yes, I responded in at least one other forum to this chair. I get the impression the owner is gathering opinions in preparation for sale. I'm afraid my opinion hasn't changed much, but at least it's positive! What a beautiful chair!

I wouldn't let BigWull sit on my parlor set, either! ;) ;D
How did you know that we,d just got ourselves another set of bathroom scales.... ;D ;D...

Well, my personal opinion would be around $750. !! In some areas could be less !!  Even high end collectors would think twice about a chair that can`t be authenticated with any accuracy !!  And many of these chairs were produced by factory workers and were shipped out in mass to other areas of the country later in the companies history !!  Really all that can be said is that the chair is attributed to his factory,, not to Jelliff !!

Good that's about what I thought. I think (don't hold me to it) that jelliff himself died before this chair was made although the factory/workshop was there until 1890. But even during his lifetime how can you ever be certain he himself ever worked on a piece even if it's labeled? So technically you can never say a piece is by jelliff!

If that,s the case then,...then there are many things that carry the name of a founder maker...who have long since popped their clogs,...but the item is still called after them...and sold as being one of theirs...a prime example is Harley Davidson motorcycles...there not sold as anything but HD,s but the original founders are long gone...which brings me back to this chair...if it was made at the Jelliff factory...then it has the right to be sold as a Jelliff chair....
