Old photograph
« on: October 16, 2012, 07:17:06 am »
I picked up this photograph at an old antique store in Stewartstown, PA amongst thousands of photograph for a buck a few years ago. I found it interesting, a group of 9 women standing around one man and then I noticed the Nazi symbols on the clothing of the women. Who is this man, what's his connection with Nazi, if any?? I know this is a far stretch for finding out information of some people in a photograph, but I'll give it a whirl. Any ideas??

This photo predates the Nazi era; it was taken ca. 1900-1910.

What do you think the nazi symbols stood for back then?

They are not Nazi symbols....the Nazi,s adopted them from...the Romans..or Hinduism...the Swastika was a peace symbol...and is still used today to decorate Indian jewellery...it is also used in Buddism......see pic of Roman mosaic with "Nazi" symbol found in Kent England..on the site of an excavated . Roman Villa...dated approx..2nd century AD.

Wow....the pic only shows women and 1 man.  I cannot see where the swastika symbol is located...

I have purchased an antique quilt in the past that had a fabric with swastikas similar to the womans skirt. I was told it was an American Indian symbol which if I remember right is for good luck.
